MILONGA & TANGO VALS CLASSES
WEDNESDAYS, AUGUST 20 & 27
Sonny and Nancy Newman will be offering drop in classes
for the next two Wednesday nights (August 20 & 27) in Mionga and Tango Vals. Sonny's repertoire
of steps for both of these dance styles are expansive and delightfully creative. We hope you will join us at these next
two Wednesday evenings.
Milonga class - 7:00p-8:30p | Tango Vals class 8:30p-10:00p
$15 for both classes per
week or drop in $10 for one class. Use your danceclass punchcard, or check/cash. Pay at the door.

Milonga is an early predecessor of tango where the dancer plays with the beat of the music;
the base of its rhythm is the candombé, an African rhythm from the Rio de la Plata region. It is energetic, playful
and fun with many variations. read more about history of the dance. Tango Vals is the the tango version of waltz danced in a continuous
movement. It opens up beautiful possibilities for movement with its 3/4 tempo.

Julio and Mirabai...Our purpose in these workshops is to introduce the concepts of dancing to many different types of music. Many people
feel unsure about how to dance to alternative and electronic tango. We would like to focus on these, to help our students
feel comfortable and be able to enjoy every tanda that is played at the Milonga. We will also teach the differences between
dancing to Disarli, Darienzo and Pugliese. There is a lot to cover and we are excited We hope to see you there.
